  • Immediately noticed:
    • VoiceOver reads "Bullets" when reading navigation
    • Points out header items and what level header, consider not having them as headers? Or double check the importance of the headers that are there?
    • Reads out horizontal break; are they really necessary?

  • *** TESTING: Try to find out when the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be in Washington, using VoiceOver.
    Steps taken (via Nav route)
    1. Navigate into HTML content
    2. Navigate through 4 items by pressing Ctrl-Option-Right Arrow until you get to "Navigation"
    3. Enter navigation area and press Ctrl-Option-Right Arrow once to select Bullet
    4. Press Ctrl-Option-Right Arrow again to get to "Tour Dates"
    5. Press Ctrl-Option-Space to follow link
    6. **** APPARENTLY this is a dead end, when you follow the link it brings you to the white space on the right of the table, so this link will not work trying to read the table information. Will now try to get to the table information by going through all of the items on the page.
    
    
    Steps taken (via HTML elements route)
    1. Navigate into HTML content
    2. Navigate over to table by clicking Ctrl-Option-Right Arrow FIFTEEN TIMES to get to table of tour dates. (Title, header level one, header level two, photo, Navigation bar, bullet, nav item, bullet, nav item, bullet, nav item, end of navigation, horizontal rule, table)
    3. Click Ctrl-Option-Right Arrow one more time once on the table, and it will tell you there are 5 rows and 50 columns, and tells you to press Control-Option to enter the table content, and then any of the arrow keys to navigate around the table.
    4. You have to do a lot of listening to get to what you need to, though it would work. It also always tells you what the coordinates are of the cell that you are on, as well as the date. This led me to believe that if I navigated over to the venue, it would provide all of the information before it, but that is not the case, it just always reads the name of the row. I wonder if it is necessary to have the date be called out in bold as the name of the row, or if it could expedite the process without it.
    
    
    5. DISCOVERY
       • Changing the row names from the date shortened what has to be read
       • It is hard to understand the abbreviations of the months with the voice reader.
       • VoiceOver, however, already knows the abbreviations for the week days and reads them out in full.

  The Closest I've Gotten to Web Design/About me

  I am technically in this class because I need the elective credits, however, programming and coding is something I have been heavily interested in since my junior year of highschool. Around this time, the iPod Touch was still relevant, and jailbreaking these and iPhones was the thing to do. My little brother finally convinced me to jailbreak, and as we excitedly scrolled through Cydia for themes to download, we found a lot of them were of shitty quality, though functional. I figured, if people could be bothered to figure out how to get their bottom-tier image all the way to their device, I could figure out how to do this with a TOP-tier image!
  
  Soon, the requests came flooding in, from photographers, mechanics, Snap-On Tools, and others, for me to make them a slider or a battery or a time bar using their logo or image. Eventually, 800,000+ people would end up downloading the themes that I created!
  
  In order for me to do this, I had to download another "app" called "iFile" once jailbroken so that I could see the files on the inside of the device, in order to insert my own versions. This is what began to get me interested in programming and coding, as I learned how to become somewhat fluent in reading OS code and navigating my way around!
  
  What's so rewarding about it is there are so many people willing to teach and share this skill, that you can find all kinds of helpful tutorials and resources on the internet! I would even go so far as to say most programmers my age were self-taught to begin with, as an interest!
